Finally!

Well people...I'm about 3 steps closer to getting my surgery!

Last Friday, I was approved by TriCare for my procedure!!! I will have to cover 20% of the surgery and around $25 for the hospital stay, but I was expecting that. I'm not sure of the complete cost yet, but I'm not terribly concerned about it just yet.

So last week involved a lot of phone calls to TriCare to make sure my doctor's office got a copy of my approval letter. This morning, I got an email from the lovely insurance specialist from Dr. Diaz's (my surgeon) office letting me know she got my approval letter! She said she will be passing my chart on to the scheduling department and they would be getting a hold of me in another 2-3 weeks (ugh!). I'm staying positive that the steps are getting done, but 2-3 WEEKS! GEEZ!!! I was hoping to have the actual surgery in 2-3 weeks! Oh well, I won't push my luck! I know I am very fortunate as it is that I was approved so quickly.

I was told they will have a surgery date when they call me! Here's hoping I will get the call in 2 weeks (or less) and not 3! Fingers crossed! I'm also hoping to have some more, totally unrelated, good news next week as well, but I'm not going to jinx it so I'm keeping mum until I know for sure! Fingers crossed for that too!

I'm off now to enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!

patience is a virtue

Trying, trying, trying to be patient!

My request was sent in to my insurance last Wednesday. I talked to TriCare and they said I had to allow 7-10 business days for processing. I also finally got signed up to get onto the mytricare.com website (which is way more work than you would imagine because it is a military website) so now I can diligently check my request status EVERYDAY whenever I feel like it! I like it because now I don't have to nag them over the phone, but now I am constantly checking it whenever I am at a computer!

I checked today and my request is still 'processing'. I suppose that's better than if it were to be denied. Now, I just have to hope and pray that when I do get approved they approve me right away and do not require the 6 months of additional dieting (I'm hoping they will attribute my last go at Weight Watchers as that 6 months.)

Not much else has been going on with me. My life has been a little crazy this week but such is life I suppose.

Just wanted to give a little update...hopefully I'll have more (good) news tomorrow!!!
